Over rated in my opinion. Watched him quite a few times. I don't think he will ever be good enough to play at the level we want to be.

Manchester City are remaining coy on talk Swedish youngster John Guidetti could still continue his career in Eastlands.

The Sweden Under-21 international, who had been out of contract, was thought to have signed for Dutch club Twente, although he has so far failed to show up for training.

It has since been suggested City were now looking to retain Guidetti, however, the club's press officer was unsure of the situation.

"I don't think he's got a contract, but I'll get back to you about that," Sam Cooke told Fotbollskanalen.

When asked if City were planning their future with Guidetti, he added: "I can't answer that."

Heard he had signed for Twente about 2 weeks ago, would have loved him to stay with us.

Future & Transfer controversy

Guidetti’s development contract with Manchester City runs out this summer. He has been offered a new deal by the club, however, it is unknown if he will accept.[9] Guidetti has made no secret of the fact that he wants more first team experiences. In late May, he visited the Dutch club FC Twente with his father and several Swedish, Dutch and British media outlets reported he had signed on for the Dutch club.[10][11][12][13][14] In mid June, reports indicated that that there are problems. Twente understood they had a Bosman deal agreed with the Guidetti's camp, but agent Per Jonsson insists nothing has been agreed upon. Twente chairman Joop Munsterman said: "We do not know if Mr Jonsson is his agent. We have done business with Mike Guidetti, the father of the player. "The most important thing for a young player like Guidetti is that he plays a lot of games. For that reason, Twente is the logical choice." [15] [16] [17]

The Dutch football association FBO (Federatie Betaald Voetbal Organization), has let a Swedish lawyer review the preliminary contract between John Guidetti and FC Twente. The organization has now announced Twente that the contract should be regarded as valid. - "In our opinion it is a valid contract. We look forward to welcoming John welcome for his first practice July 1", says Twente chairman Joop Munsterman to Voetbal International Magazine.[18] [19]

That's from Wiki,

John Guidetti looks set to sign a new deal with Manchester City after travelling on their US tour.

Guidetti's previous contract with the Blues expired at the end of the season and he was on the verge of joining Dutch side FC Twente.

However, the 19-year-old striker has had a change of heart and is on the brink of accepting a new offer from City.

"It is very close, there's just the matter of a few details remaining," his agent Per Jonsson told the TT news agency.

"Their manager, Roberto Mancini, really wants to keep him and John wants to stay and play for the club."

Jonsson claimed the Premier League outfit are now the only option for Guidetti as although Leicester have admitted interest, they have ruled out making a move for the Sweden Under-21 international.
Leicester link

Leicester manager Sven-Goran Eriksson was still Man City's first-team boss when they signed Guidetti in 2008 but will not try to make him Leicester's latest summer signing despite discussing the option with his management team.

"We spoke about him yesterday," he told Expressen.

"John is without a doubt a very good football player with technique and that is strong. But at the moment we are looking at other alternatives.

"We want a player who can run deep behind the opponents' defenders and break through into the penalty area. We have at least two more players on their way in."

1622: DONE DEAL Manchester City striker John Guidetti has completed a loan move to Feyenoord for the rest of the season. The 19-year-old Sweden Under-21 international initially looked set to leave City permanently this summer but instead signed a new three-year deal.
