Now I know there's a fair bit of hate on here for him, but IMO that's because of his square peg, round hole performances for England which is more down to team selection than the player himself. I feel it's hard to criticize his domestic game, and IMO is one of the best English midfielders of his type.

I know he's only got 12 months left on his current contract, but he's in his prime, probably got another 3 or 4 years left in him at the highest level, and an England international, so doesn't £8-10m seem a bit on the low side, maybe even a grade A bargain? I can only assume his valuation is so low because he wouldn't entertain playing for another English club, therefore limiting potential suitors and reducing his value?

I was thinking it seemed low but assumed he was in final year.

You'd have thought an Italian or Spanish club would pay up £15m or so though?

Yeah I agree. With silly money being touted about for the likes of Bentley and Barry, you'd think he'd demand a fee higher than £8m last year of contract or not.

I'd have him at city for that sort of money, obviously I know that wouldn't happen.

Yeah I know, and I do hate him. He is top 6 EPL mid-fielders at the moment, still I just HATE the fat prick.

It is quite a low price compared to what they paid for Deco. I heard this morning he'd turned Inter down as they'd only offered a 4 year deal.

Check out this Youtube video where Frank Lampard admits to breaking a treadmill. Guess where the video was recorded? Italy! Hmm. Wonder what he's doing there.
