Do we have a Olympics football schedule somewhere? Presuming Brazil make the final what's the worst we are looking at here?

Football at the Olympics run August 6th -23rd. So, we might assume Jo would be available for the next City match on weekend of August 30th and 31st, so he will miss Villa and Wes'ham but probably be available for Sunderland.

Just hope he doesnt get burnt out. He has played a few games for CSKA and now the Olympics. He has the Uefa cup and the premier leagues gruelling campaign with 2 cup comps....pffffffff.

Kaka was refused permission to go by his club. Perhaps we should have done the same.

Suspect it may have been in his contract.

To be fair to him, it would be harsh to deny him the opportunity.

Looks like the cows arse and banjo brigade for the start of the season then...

Let's give Studge or maybe Evans a go, can't do any harm.

Genuine lol, followed by strange looks from co-workers.
We've got to get that adopted as a chant whenever they play. It's even got call-and-answer potential, with the singing section doing the 'everybody knows' bit followed by the whole of COMS shouting 'mashed potato!'. I could die happy if I saw that.

Will he have to fight his way into the squad then?

Are we going to have people like Bianchi and Corradi back for the beginning of the season?

Whilst Jo may only be away for the first two games, the biggest problem is that he is going to miss most of the pre season build up. Hence he's not likely to gel with the rest of the team straight off, so you may as well add another 2-3 games before we start seeing the real player start to show though.

Bad news for us but you can't stop a guy playing for his country, especially as he appears to have made Dunga swallow his pride and pick him.

He'll get a good enough hit of pre season with the squad, and fitness-wise he should be in excellent condition. He'll come back hopefully fresh and well, maybe with a couple of gamess under his belt and it'll be no different from signing a player towards the end of the transfer window.
