Lunch is for wimps.

Watched Wall Street again last night. I know there's some kind of moral message at the end but I always come away wanting to make myself filthy rich with a litany of dodgy insider deals :icon-twisted:

Or part of OPEC and watch the rest of the world suffer whilst maintaining oil prices high to kill any recovery.

Imagine the misery oil has created over the last 40 years! Financially, War, hunger, corrupt governments.

GOD don't you go on!! Look, it's all very well being a bleeding heart utilitarian when you're ponsing round uni, but just you wait till you've got responsibilities, a mortgage, family to feed... See where all this greater good bullshit gets you then. 10 years from now you'll be playing a very different tune believe me. Anyway I can't be bothered to argue any more, I'm out.

I'm having a full row with "Comandante" BBC. He's got me on the ropes a bit at the moment I don't mind admitting.

I can't imagine Catalonia would be much worse off it broke away from Spain, the state it's in.

Dont be so sure, its the region with the second largest debt after Andalucia and also hefty unemployment. Most Regional banks are up the creak, and no ones knows the affect of a split and what it would mean fiscally.

Plus my family is Spanish speaking, even though from here.

Would it change that much though? They'd still use the Euro - there might be the odd gay border post set up but there wouldn't be much tax implications as they'd still be within the EU trading zone. Local parliament would still be dominated by the nationalist and official languages would still be Catalan and Spanish, with everyone using Spanish. I doubt anyone would notice the difference except you wouldn't have the streets clogged with demonstrators every other week.

Oh and communism is so much better is it? It might work in theory but it totally ignores human nature! It must be wonderful this imaginary world of yours where everyone takes just as much as they need and never yearns for anything else, but you need to realise it only exists in your head.

Tosser.

Interesting read. In truth I suspected it wouldn't be a simple as my 3 line summary made out.
