Is it just me or was Richards the biggest load of shite against the rags?

How many times was he stood ball watching with his hand stuck up in the air.

Apologies for lateness of post but I thought someone might have picked up on this already...

He had a shocker imo.

Bridge didn't have the best of games either. which put huge pressure on Toure and Lescott.

When? I remember Lescott getting a chance but not Micah.

At the end, Petrov played it across the face of goal and Richards couldn't get a touch.

He actually did get a touch, would have been a corner otherwise :(

Shame all these ifs and buts.

Like my mate on the school bus put it, if Tevez had controlled the ball instead of flicking it on in the last minute, we would have probably got a draw. But what's happened has happened, so no point dwelling on it. What matters now is that Zabaleta is given a run in the team, to prove he is a better option than Richards.

If Tevez had've stuck that one away just before half time instead of hitting the post I think there's a good chance we would've gone on to win. That's the biggest one for me.

This.

But there are ifs and buts in every game or season somewhere.

If we'd have been good enough, we'd have won.

I reckong that's the most important part.

I said this in another thread - Richards looks like a new born giraffe when he has the ball at his feet. I feel for the guy as I really don't think he has recaptured the form he had before his bad knee injury but there were times on Sunday that he just didn't look the part.

On the first goal he made a good interception for the throw in but instead of marking up to a player was caught waving his hands in the air at the other defenders.

Goals 2 came from a cross on his side of defence. He always seems to be caught out of position and he gives players too much room.

Goal 3 was a result of a foul on his side of defence - again caught out.

And finally goal 4 - you guessed it form his side of defence. He was no where to be seen when Owen received the pass form Giggs. SWP did his best to get back and put pressure on Owen but it wasn't enough.

Like I said at the start I don't want to crucify one player for the result as I believe that Bridge was also a liability for much of the game but I truly believe Zab's needs a run. He was one of our shining lights last season.

If we had a squad of 100 we would still get mre than our share of injuries.

Few people are forgetting that Richards skinned two Arsenal defenders to feed Bellamy last week.

Even still, I think this is as good as he gets. He wants to get forward even though he should be focusing on defending first.

Its time for Zab to get a run.

Surely Hughes has to see this.

that was last week, a blip in the otherwise steadily declining stock of micah.

we'd stopped playing before that. hoofing the ball aimlessly is what we got rid of dunne for i figured. it is certainly not playing to any recognisable degree.
