Still sulking, apparently. Doesn't want to fight for his place depite the new manager. See ya, then.

Andreas Isaksson has said Mark Hughes' appointment as Manchester City does not alter in any way his desire to quit Eastlands.

The Sweden goalkeeper is currently away with the national side preparing for Euro 2008, having earlier in the summer declared his intention to quit the club having been ousted as City's first choice.

Hughes arrival in Manchester could see several players re-evaluate their City careers but Isaksson is not one of them.

"I want to leave the club. I said that before, and the arrival of Mark Hughes will make no difference," said Isaksson.

"I will not be fighting for my place or talking to the new manager about changing my mind."

Asked about Hughes's appointment, Isaksson said: "I don't really care. Hopefully, I won't be at the club next season."

Media reports in Sweden and England have linked Isaksson with a move to Fulham but he said he had not spoken to any clubs and was focusing strictly on Euro 2008.

Despite his lack of Premier League starts last term at City, Isaksson is confident he will be Sweden's first choice for their opening Group D clash with European champions Greece on Tuesday.

"No, I do not think this will affect my selection," he said.

"I feel good and I am in good shape, everything has felt good in the games I have played this year and I have trained well. So I do not think this will be a problem."

The club needs to retain Joe Hart and Kasper Schmeichel.
Balls to Isaksson.

Good riddance to bad rubbish. At this point I want to write a spitting noise but I dont know how. The nearest I could get was 'twu'. Just pretend I did. Twice. 'twu' 'twu' In your face, Isaksson. And take your big bulbous head with you.

What is the point of letting a player stay at the club if he doesn't wanna stay!!

Get rid of him.

I don't think he'd really be that much of a loss...

I mean come on...one of the only games he played this season and conceded 8?

As long as we can try and keep Kasper, it will all be fine!

He does seem to have been complaining from the day he arrived. He's been injured most of the time and Hart took his chance. Hart is already a superior goalkeeper and will only get better.

Didn't he say he saw City as a stepping stone for a bigger club?

Fulham are massive though.

I was laughing at their massive away support for the first 70 minutes of their game at COMS last season.

Andreas Isaksson is a target for the Dutch champions

Despite the arrival of Mark Hughes as manager, Isaksson remains keen to leave City after a frustrating season under fellow countryman Sven Goran Eriksson.

"I will try to leave and find another club," he said while on Euro 2008 duty with Sweden.

"I don't think I will be at the club next season."

PSV are searching for alternatives to Heurelho Gomes after the popular Brazilian keeper fell out with members of the club hierarchy during the last campaign.

Bye then:

Manchester City's Swedish goalkeeper Andreas Isaksson is wanted by Spanish side Atletico Madrid. (Daily Mirror)
