I don't read it that way, it still seems that Dunne is mulling things over.

Anyway, he can fuck off for me, as can Hart if he won't sign a new contract, cheeky little c**t.

No idea, but it seems that he's got ideas above his station at a very early stage. With one or two of his performances at the back end of last season plus his very shaky England debut I'd have thought he'd be a tad more humble.

Portsmouth could find out this week if they have been successful in their bid to land Richard Dunne.

The Manchester City captain has just 12 months left on his contract at Eastlands and Portsmouth are believed to be leading a host of Premier League clubs looking to secure his signature.

The 28-year-old is believed to be considering his options following the appointment of Mark Hughes as City boss, but Harry Redknapp remains hopeful of bringing him to Fratton Park.

"Richard Dunne is a player I like," he told The News.

Dragging on

"I would love to bring him here, and (Portsmouth chief executive) Peter Storrie has been doing the work on it.

"It does seem to be dragging on a bit at the moment, but hopefully he can meet with him again and see what we can do.

"Maybe Mark Hughes going there as manager is part of the problem.

"But I think there's a bit of a problem with the deal or something, though.

"We should know where we are going with it in the next couple of days. If we were to get him it would be great.

"He's a powerful player and he would make us very strong at the back. We'll have to see what happens."

50 is way too much I think. I'd go higher than 10 though.

if we really did only offer 10k i can see why he won't sign. first choice goalkeeper and being in the england squad do kind of point towards being worth a bit more than that.
but 50k takes the piss.

regarding the england squad. he was on the england bench along with Lewis, the goalkeeper who plays for peterborough or someone. i doubt he is now demanding £50k.

i dont believe £10k is the offer, but he doesnt deserve £50k yet. if that is what he is demanding then id tell him to fook off.

Dunne set to stay with Blues
Mike Whalley
1/ 7/2008

PORTSMOUTH have admitted defeat in their bid to tempt Richard Dunne away from City.

The Blues captain is expected to sign a new contract at Eastlands, despite Harry Redknapp's interest.

City have offered the 28-year-old a contract which would almost double his £28,000-a-week salary - although he could have earned more at Pompey.

But Portsmouth chief executive Peter Storrie has now conceded that Dunne will not be moving south.

Storrie said: "We're not expecting anything to happen. It looks like he's going to stay at City
