From the MUEN

Sun set for his Blues sunset
Chris Bailey

JIHAI Sun could be heading for either Stoke or Bolton as Mark Hughes begins to evaluate the squad he inherited from Sven-Goran Eriksson.

The China international's contract runs out at the end of this month and he is unlikely to be offered another one.

Early interest from Burnley now seems to have waned but it appears the 30-year-old utility man will still have a choice of clubs close to his Manchester home should he choose to stay in this country.

Blackburn and Preston could also still offer a fresh start for a player who clocked up nine league and cup starts last season but managed an impressive 130 in his five-year stay with City. He has 66 caps for his country and is one of the most popular sportsmen in China.

The China international's contract runs out at the end of this month and he is crazy if he thinks he will be offered another one.

Blackburn and Preston could also still offer a fresh start for a player who clocked up nine league and cup starts last season managing to cost his team a number of games with his poor decision making and lack of ability but managed an impressive 130 in his five-year stay with City we dread to think how many times he has cost city points over the years. He has 66 caps for his country and is one of the most popular sportsmen in China.

Well that didn't take long. Tbh though, evaluation of Sun's prospects for a new contract really wouldn't be a time-consuming task, would it?

How long have we paid for him being shit though. I do feel sorry for him.
Do you think he's even good enough for the championship?

I've always defended him in the past, but even I have to admit now that he aint up to par anymore. Specially now our sights are being set a little higher. Good luck to him though.

One player who always gave a fully commited performance and didn't moan abount not being played or being played out of position.

I wish more of our players had his attitude.

He didn't do too well last season ok and he was only in the team out of dire necessity - however, over the years he has played far more good games than shite for us.

I'm beginning to like Mr Hughes if this is true. Sun tries 100% but only has 50% of the talent required to play in the top half of the Prem. Good luck to him wherever he ends up.

That's probably his one saving grace and the reason why most on here (myself included) seem to be wishing him all the best while not being upset that he might be leaving. I genuinely want to see him make a move that he's happy with, but it's time for him to move on from City.
