Its looking more and more realistic that if we play 4-4-2 next season with one holding midfielder that out attacking 5 players would be.

Elano - Ronaldinho - Petrov

Jo - Bojinov

That good enough to scare anyone... can't wait for the UEFA cup draw.... get some minnows and give them a good thumping. Hat trick Debut for Jo.

I bought a brazil shirt today to show support for our brazilian quartet next season

I'm not sure... do you think that gelson could step up and make that role his own? I'm not sure myself, but i don't really know of any available defensive midfielders who fit the bill.

From what i've read though Jean ll Makoun would be worth looking at

We don't need one.

Hamann can play the role well, fair does he may be aging, but in the time between now and retirement, he could groom* Johnno into a quality holding midfielder, if he isn't one already

*hur hur

Gelson looked v avergae against the Czecks but he's young - I owuld still have Didi as the first name on the team list though

Corlucka looked his usual unruffled best yesterday - first half anyway

I thought Chorley had an ordinary game yesterday, lot of passes went astray, turned up free kicks a number of times and just didnt sparkle*. Although he was sound defensively you can see the coach gives him full freedom to get forward and lob a long pass in, but he didnt offer too much. I thought.

* is this a word you can use to describe a footballer?

I still think Gelson got better as the season went on and scored a coupla nice goals for us and wanted the ball all the time...Hughes would be a fool not to recognise his potential
