I was thinking the same thing. If the rule does go through our academy would make us serious challengers for the title, and certainly make us a shed load of money.

or we would just get our best youth players stolen off us before they were 16.

ive met Elano and his wife and she isnt a bimbo or anything and they seem really nice. however i know elano gets with other girls on nights out. my girlfriend is brazilian and often finds herself at the same parties as the south american footballers and she told me about him, he was there with nani and nani's brother at a VIP party at Tiger Tiger with another woman, which i dont like.

also i saw Johnson out last season. It was the day before the first game he missed due to abdominal problems and was out drinking in the Birdcage. Which i thought was a bit strange.

If any of that exists then I trust Hughes will put an end to it. Can't afford that kind of culture in our team. And if Ronaldinho arrives then we certainly don't want to encourage him.

i dont care about footballers sleeping around. i just dont get why they get married. im not saying elano cheating on his wife is a massive revelation, im just adding what i know to suggest there may be some substance to this story.

Who's saying what? There are no quotations in the whole article, which tends to hint that it's a load of crap.

Elano has only ever seemed down-to-earth to me. He has his wife and children over here, his mum visits regularly and never wants to leave - doesn't sound like the lifestyle of a party animal to me really!

Johnson is definitely worth keeping, It would make no sense if we sell him to Liverpool, when they are probably the team most likely to drop out of the top four - exactly where we want to be. I think the article is probably trying to stir things up. Probably a Tottenham-or-Liverpool-supporting-journalist who wrote it.

hope so. however, if we don't rate johnson as we rate richards it may be some problem

How come you wait for revelations in the press to tell us your stories?

i don't say they should get the same wages but in the club both of them should feel they're important to the club

That's a load of shit right there. The amount these players are paid, and the high levels of public interest in the sport mean that they should act professionally when on and off the field. Unfortunately neither of these happen too often nowadays.

I would like to know why Bluewythy waits for revelations in the press before he tells all about the goings on in Elano's private life? Seems very strange to me.

Im all relaxed here, its Saturday! I wouldn't let it get to a point where it's in the tabloids! Its just a shame, they are role models after all... My 5 year old brother idolises Micah, thats why things like that disappoint me. :)

I dont buy into the whole role model thing, its the same as peer pressure people need to be a man think for yourself and stop being a sheep. People do it becasue they wanna do it not because someone else is doing it.

I disagree, at least in terms of kids. Peer pressure is very difficult to resist and at an impressionable age, those around you are the ones that influence you. Parents, mates, role-models, they all influence the person we become. If everyone tells you one thing, how exactly are you supposed to form an open-minded opinion. We only know right from wrong because we learn it.

But the players are hardly saying to the kids - go get pissed, shag a bird with your mate in Maccy D's bogs (or whatever establishment it happened to be). Kids pay as much attention to footballers as they do music personalities. It happens.
