Werder Bremen want him now, might get £3.5m/£4m for him if there is a bidding war.

Im sure its 3 teams now coming in for him:

1) Celtic
2) Werder Bremen
3) ?

Georgios Samaras will keep Celtic waiting until after the European Championships before deciding if his future lies at Parkhead.

The 23-year-old Greece international arrived on loan from Manchester City in January and his six goals helped Gordon Strachan's side retain the Clydesdale Bank Premier League title.

German club Werder Bremen are also reported to be interested in the £3million-rated striker but he told the Daily Record that nothing will be confirmed until after European 2008.

He said: "First of all let me say it is my decision and no one else's.

"Manchester City can't keep me if I don't want to stay.

"What happens now? Well, at this stage I can't stay. I just want to concentrate on Euro 2008.

"Now is not the time to be making decisions on my future.

"Manchester City and Celtic will have to wait until the time is right. My focus has to be on these finals.

"I have said that my first choice is Celtic and that is still the way I feel.

"I don't know anything about Bremen and at this stage I don't want to know.

"If Celtic want me and they can agree something with City then it should be very easy - but we'll wait and see."

Perhaps - just perhaps - City won't be wanting you to stay, Georgios.

I'd heard the price with celtic was already set at the time of the loan deal. That's usually the way it works.

Ah, right. It always struck me as unfair that type of deal anyway. If the loan goes bad the buying club can just say we dont want him and pull out of the deal, but if it goes well they get a bargain. A bit like Miller.

What we need is a Samaras golden boot at the euro's, about the only way of getting back the 6 million quid we paid for him.

Add Dickov, Mpenza, Vassell, Coradi and all the loan signings to the out tray and we have a nice clean slate to start again in the front line.

I heard that his fee was based of appearances or something and that if we sell him for like 3-4 mill we wouldn't really be out of pocket.

From a friend of a friend of mine who heard it from an australian taxi driver so i dont know if its true :p Anyone?

The taxi driver is correct, when we bought Samaras the deal was structured, we didn't pay £6m up front. If we off load for £3-4m we'll break even at least.
