No need for scaremongering Bert.

It's been said that it's six months out.

If it is really snapped he'll only have a 50/50 chance of recovery at best.

That might be for you or I. I suspect professional athletes are given a slightly better chance of recovery by way of not relying on the good old NHS.

If it’s snapped there is a good chance its game over for him at this level. However they showed him limping around heavily bandaged in the second half.

If it was that bad he wouldn’t be moving around at all even on crutches; he would surely be at hospital already.

Anyway it’s a disaster for us as out only really experienced option at the moment. It’s a minimum of 6 months out so really another season gone for him.

Terrible luck he definitely will never be the same with the knee and now this :(

If it is six months that takes us to end of february. Not much left of the season then.

Warm ups should be banned. I have seen more people injured in warmups than in games.

Sadly not true Bastard. When I had an Achilles injury I saw a physio who works with the GB Olympic team. He said surgery would be a last resort as chances of running again less than 50/50.

Many top athletes have had career ruined by achilles injury.

Just listened to the Hughes interview boj has a "complete rupture of achilies tendon" = 6 months out minmum = out for the rest of the season.

Its its completely snapped then it really is game over. You are into crafting the tendon. Very low probability of success and being able to peform at the highiest level.

Absolute nightmare :( All the fans on gmr + the pudits are pointing out our complete folly in the trasfer market signing Jo. We needed a leftback, right midfielder a quality holding player and a couple of PROVEN forwards. Thats what Villa had over us today.

Everyone knows it as does hughes I am sure but then again Jo wasnt his signing. HE is now in desperate attempts to sign yet another forward with no time and no one willing to sell. Criminal really.

Oh come on...

He hasn't got a record of injury ffs. He's a big talent.

Just a little tweaking then, eh?!

If Hughes seems to be desperate to buy all the prices will go up.

I was thinking the same. If we approach a club now looking to buy a striker then they'll bump the price up due to our current situation.

How can one man be so unlucky? I'm gutted for the man. He must be thinking his time with us is cursed. And I'd find it hard to argue.
I'm much more upset about this than I am about todays result. Football? Pah! Football shmutball.
