Fcuk sake. Never thought I'd be saying this but really gutted he's injured. He's been brilliant over pre-season. Looked really hungry for the game, especially against AC Milan. Oh well, such is City's luck...

3 months is way too much for us, we seem to be struggling a bit with our strikers. As you said Vass has been playing well in pre-season, we have already Benji and Jo out. I would be happy to see Bianchi again, he deserve another chance. I think we will see a great partnership (Bojinov and Bianchi). Then we will see the youngsters (Ched and Dan) as back ups.

Never thought i'd be saying this, but it's a real shame.. he's played great in pre-season, showing real hunger for the game.. he was cracking in the AC Milan game.

To be honest sturridge has been playing well. Maybe it will give him a chance to shine ? We still have :

Bojinov
Evans
Sturridge

Available now. They seem to have be playing quite well in pre season.

Bianchi
Caicedo

If we are desperate.

Benjani

Back around the end of the month If they are fit. Personally I would play Elano behind Bojinov and then Ireland out on the right wing for the time being. That leaves us a couple of strikers in reserve and Etuhu and (if he stays) Castillo as cover for the right wing. That should be enough against most sides to get something. The jo signing continues to look like ill thought out folly though....

I just read up the page, just my thoughts on the matter. Can't say I'm his biggest fan, infact i was all for getting rid but after the AC Milan game, you've got to give credit where credit's due.. he read the game well and his link up play was spot on..

Exactly what I wanted to say. But we can hang on a bit until Jo comes back.

As much as i've liked Vass in pre-season.. it's not the end of the world.. we've got Boj who's going to set the prem on fire and sturridge who's showing great promise.. that's besides Ched for backup. Jo will be back before long with plenty of quality match minutes under his belt and Benjani should be back before long.. Calm down.. What is it with all the pessimistic fuckers on here nowadays.. It's typical City.

Never seen Mark Hughes tries the 4-5-1 formation as a City manager thus far.

Well he can call it 4 - 4 - 2 then if it makes him happy. You have to play the formation to the players you have available and thats probably as good as it gets for us at the moment.

I agree hes more likely to just go for Bojinov and Sturridge up front and stick Elano out wide. Really a huge waste of Elanos talents though. OUr best stuff came last season playing elano behind a loan forward.

Agree with your idea of how talented Elano is when he plays behind the strikers. But I am not a fan of playing this formation, we struggled a lot last season (scoring goals). Elano was the top scorer with 8 goals, we have too many strikers why not giving them the chance and play 4-4-2. Elano started his international career with Brazil as RM, and he isn't bad at all even that I prefer a better RM; but I would be happy if we end up with Elano as RM.
