The hardest part is actually getting in the position to cross the ball an he can already do that. He caused havok against a very good Hamburg side. Just need to learn that sometimes its better to put in short simple passes than blast it across the face of goal everytime.

Definitely.

Cos usually blasting across goal ended up in the stand. :D

Absolute bullshit. It took him about two and a half years to score his first goal, I think it came away at Millwall when we were banned from travelling.

His crossing was, and still is mostly bobbins.

Agree with Bastard. SWP used to run like the clappers, turn defenders inside out, fight off challanges and then let the ball trickle out of play before he could cross it. Took a few seasons before he came good on a regular basis.

The only player I've seen in recent years who looks the real deal from game one is Joe Hart.

Are you forgetting Kasper at the beginning of the season?

I think Micah hit the ground running.

Johnson looked good in his first game against Wigan but we got tonked 4-1 so it took the gloss of a bit.

I agree that Richards has looked solid from the beginning.

It took SWP time to realise his best postion striker, wing back and then winger, Keegan always said he would eventually become a striker again

No. We had plenty of clean sheets, but he flapped at too many crosses.

He looked good against Celtic though. Liked the way he comes crashing out for high balls and takes no prisoners.

I have a feeling the only reason Kasper was playing was to get him in the shop window, so to speak .

May not be true, but ive heard his dad wants him out, pronto.

I'm sure his daddy wants him playing first team footy but for us he is now our No2 and needs to get some games in. Can't see us selling him unless we buy another keeper.

He signed a new deal not so long ago. I am sure he would like first team football but we only have 2 keepers. I cant see him being sold.

Why doesn't Weiss get a look-in for the right wing is what I want to know.

Todays Evening news...

Quote:
MARK HUGHES wants to turn back the clock to the days when City's speedy wingers terrorised the top flight.

And the Blues boss is banking on Kelvin Etuhu and Valdimir Weiss to develop into a 'Mr Right!'

He has been impressed with the pace of Etuhu and wizardry of Weiss and said: "Kelvin is a young player still learning the position but if you ask any defender about facing a guy with the pace that he has got then they will tell you that they are not going to have an enjoyable time of things.

"Vlad has made a big jump up but technically he is excellent and has great ability to take players on. That is what fans like to see and so do I.

"We will encourage him to carry on doing that but there are other elements of his game that maybe are weaknesses that he needs to work on. He has a lot of developing to do physically and in football terms but he has the potential without any shadow of doubt.

"We will not rush him but we want to expose him to senior football and we will continue to do that and then things will not be a surprise for him.

"He has the ability to make the step up but he has to listen and learn."
