According to his agent he is now staying cos he is too important to leave.
The one who needs to leave is his agent

He was, but not used properly during his loan spell imo.

He could have been used in certain home games from the start .. against the likes of Burnley/Hull etc and had a big impact imo. Instead he was brought on for the last 10/15 mins of random games home and away and generally didn't have the time to make his mark on the game.

I don't think we got to see the best of him.

Mismanagement.

His goal scoring form for us was excellent no question. In hindsight maybe we could've utilised him better against the likes of burnley in the latter half of the season when we were playing shit. It rankles having to rely on a 36 yr old though, and as our Lord and Saviour pointed out in the other thread, it was our defensive frailties that really cost us the league.

I disagree with this, a game against burnleh is EXACTLY the sort of game a league seasoned player knows how to turn out for where a billion pound starlet (robinho, elano, yaya, nasri et al) is likely to lack motivation for. Every game in the premier league is losable, and, as the saying goes 'yeh he may be a great signing but will he turn up on a freezing wednesday night at bournemouth/watford/norwich'.

Experience, ability to keep the ball and an extra man in the middle of the park playing a 4-5-1 rather than a 4-4-2

Hindsight is beautiful

And glaringly obvious at the time but never implemented.

The problem was Dzeko, Jovetic and Bony not being able to buy a goal. I think you can be forgiven for playing 2 up front at home against Burnley (if we did, I can't remember).

Says he is staying now. Not heard what his agent says mind.
If he stays that is one less reason to buy Wilshire . He is too obnoxious for our team and not that good.

A side foot from outside the area which is still rising when it hits the back of the net - how is that even possible?

I know. I watched it multiple times and it's a delight. Had the net not been there we would have seen it start to radically bend as well. he has to be the hardest kick of the ball in the league.
