I like his confidence, he is such a great keeper. Hopefully he will keep his game up. I have no worries at all I believe he will stay with us.

Hart's been called up to the full England squad. He deserves it too. Bet he's glad he was on the bench today. No keeper deserves the kind of defence we had today.

You misunderstand me, Miggsy. He was sat on the bench in his garden enjoying the sun. Do try to keep up.

Gardening I'd imagine. He said something about having a bad back from all the bending down.

Shrewsbury will receive around £500,000 if Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart makes his England debut against USA later this month.

The 21-year-old moved to Eastlands in 2006 from the League Two side and one of the clauses in the deal will be triggered if he caps off his breakthrough season by playing for his country.

England boss Fabio Capello has Hart, David James and Chris Kirkland to choose from for the friendly at Wembley on May 28 and the trip to Trinidad and Tobago for the clash on the following Sunday.

Hart is still in the squad for the Under-21s against Wales later this week, along with David Wheater, Gabriel Agbonlahor and Theo Walcott, who are all also in the seniors.

It is understood that Capello is not planning to attend the friendly at Wrexham's Racecourse Ground and general manager Franco Baldini is expected to monitor Stuart Pearce's youngsters.

LMFAO

Spurs are also lining up Manchester City keeper Joe Hart, with Paul Robinson moving in the opposite direction. (Daily Mail)

Like we would let a fantastic keeper like Hart go in exchange for a has been like Robinson.

We don't need to give a last payday to over the hill keepers anymore (Seaman).

I think a season long loan at somewhere like Wolves or Birmingham would do the fellas confidence the world of good.

Birmingham City boss Alex McLeish wants to sign on-loan Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart on a permanent basis.

McLeish has also stepped up his interest in his long-term target, Sporting Gijon midfielder, Michel.

England international Hart, 22, is on a season-long loan at Birmingham.

McLeish said: “Maybe we could come to some arrangement with Man City, if he continues to play to the level he’s playing at.”

McLeish is backing Hart to get into the England squad for the World Cup Finals and he added: “I think England like him and he has got every opportunity. He’s got a great chance.

“He’s a massive presence, works really hard and he has tidied up his game on a couple of things. He looks a real prospect for England.”

Meanwhile, Michel, who McLeish tried to sign in the summer, was watched by Birmingham in action against Tenerife last weekend.

Birmingham agreed a fee of £2.5m for the 23-year-old only for the deal to collapse over the payments terms.

We don't need to sell him, but let's face it, injury aside, he hasn't got a shot at the City first team for the next few years.

I'd still keep him though. Send him back to Birmingham on a 2 year loan or sommat.

Too good for back up, not good enough for first.
I call it the Darren Huckerby effect
