Indeed, and given the amount of fixtures over December and January in the EPL, it must come as a bit of a shock.

Elano has said that he'll be better prepared for our winter this coming season, but what was he excuse for being pap in the spring?

:D

His best work last season was when Johnson was in the starting 11 and fully fit, they seemed to work well together. I'm right in thinking Johnson didn't play in Hamburg?? Might be wrong as it was a full 35 minutes into the match before a realised Petrov was playing! :p

it took about that long until i realised I was watching City. i thought a local pub team had turned out instead. then I saw that it was Vassell in the number 12 shirt.

Russia, Ukraine, China whats the difference? They're both cold, they're both shit and England is not that bad, so both should be able to hack it and stop being bitches

Tricky that one.

It's The Beatles isn't it?

I'm fairly sure it's just The The rather than the The The though.

Who's both? Elano's one, is Jo the other? If you're saying Jo's shit then I'm gonna have to smite you good for that boy.

Ah! you were talking about the country being shit? Ok, let you off.

Elano will be the world's best player this season. You'll see.

I heart Elano.

I know the guy who is married to the daughter of the Ukranian president. You might have seen him on that Michael Palin programme where he went all the way round East Europe. He was the long haired biker who had Palin riding pillion and he has a death metal band called the 'Death Valley Screamers' who are huge over there apparently. He's said anytime I want I can go over there and I'll be treated like royalty and get to shoot AK47s at buildings, I might just do it.

I have to agree with Bastard.

I heart him lots.

He did go a bit rubbish but it was a one off, half a season off whatever

Ergo a flash in the pan. He was wank against Hamburg, made Ireland look good.

When hes on, you really do see a difference in the quality of the play. Whether or not he's as effective as he was early last season is irrelevant to me, i feel as though he is as good an option as we have or even want for the position of a creative midfielder.

Granted he was brilliant and then declined due to injury\not being used to no winter break, he did start to play better towards the end of the season and i think he will be solid this season without being constantly brilliant. However if he is the world class player that we all want him to be all the time, maybe he'll surprise us and be amazing all through the season.

I would have agreed with you if his going "a bit rubbish" had ended sometime but it hasn't. Yet. I'm starting to wonder if it will ever.
