surely, if we get rid of tevez we owe this kid a fair shot in the rotation up front... then we would have 2 big man (balo, dzeko) and 2 small crafty forwards (aguero, Guidetti)

He played over here in the US, thought he would be seeing some time this year, then out on loan. I think 18 goals in 16 games is worth a shot to take on a player we already own.

Saw this a mile off.

John Guidetti has no intention of returning to Manchester City unless he is challenging for a first team place.

He will be challenging, just not very successfully. Also I don't think we can call him a twat for wanting to play football rather than stagnating on the bench collecting a paycheck.

I've heard he already has a massive collection of DVD's and memorabilia of the 2003 John Woo film. He is, however, quite happy to sit on the bench if they offer him money

Feyenoord supporter from the Netherlands here.

Guidetti was a sensation this year in the Dutch league!

Feyenoord finished 10th last season, and had to sell its 3 best players... So with a squad full of youngsters expectations were very low for this season.

But John Guidetti... all by himself... gave the team such a positive vibe and moral boost... they started to believe they could actually challenge for the title.... And in the end they only came 6 points short.

His scoring abilitys are tremendous. Every shot is between the posts. The energy he puts in the game is awesome also. He reminds me of Dirk Kuyt with Feyenoord, but with a lot more efficiency in front of the goal. Lot more killer instinct.... And he's only 19. He's a role model of a professional also. He's a character on the pitch, but always in a positive matter. Always boosting morale of the squad, always setting the example.

I dont think Guidetti will be on loan next season also... But in Rotterdam we would love to have him one more year =) Im sure that he wouldnt have any troubles adjusting to the premier league , and having a big impact there also.

But if you guys don't want him in the squad or even on the bench.... Send him over here next season also =) Super Guidetti is more than welcome here =)

About time someone came on here and thanked us personally. Too little too late, we'll loan him out to someone a bit more appreciative next season.

God I've missed this kind of scientific, super-logical analysis. Where is Mr. Western media conspiracy theory these days?

Quote:
Sky Sports understands that North East duo Newcastle United and Sunderland have joined the chase for Manchester City starlet John Guidetti.

Although the young striker is set to have options across Europe with clubs from Italy, Spain and Germany all looking to land him.

The 20-year-old spent last season on loan in Holland and he scored 20 goals in just 23 games for Feyenoord.

Story

Might be good for him to get some PL experience. If he could start regularly for Newcastle, that'd be great, because they've got a good record with strikers. But I don't know if he'd start ahead of Cisse and Ba.

I doubt he'd start. Newcastle adopted 4-3-3 towards the end of the season with Cissé in the middle. Guidetti would be competing for that central role so most likely a substitute.
