Mark Hughes’ first games in charge of Man City will be broadcast exclusively live on Setanta Sports.

LUCERNE V MANCHESTER CITY – Tuesday, July 8th
BASEL V MANCHESTER CITY - Thursday, July 10th

Setanta Sports has added these two Manchester City matches to its already impressive 2008/09 pre-season friendlies portfolio, which include rivals Man Utd’s tour of South Africa and important matches featuring Spurs and Sunderland.

Hughes will take his new side to Switzerland to face Super League champions, Basel and European hopefuls Luzern in what will be a testing ground for new signings as he looks to build momentum ahead of the Premier League season.

Setanta Sports anchor, Angus Scott commented: "Mark Hughes has a real challenge ahead of him this season following in Sven’s footsteps and more importantly keeping the fans happy.

"These opening pre-season friendlies in Switzerland will give us a real picture of Hughes’ plans for the season and I am sure every City fan will be tuning in to Setanta Sports to get a first glimpse of their sides future."

I just got back from a short trip to Lucerne the other weekend, wish I had waited to go now! Its such a nice place - I would recommend anyone to visit and see the City game.

Were it not my first week at work I'd be sorely tempted.

its not gonna happen, because the final will be between one team from group A&B and one team from C&D. So no way it will happen
Portugal vs Spain final for me.

I thought I read he had cancelled these games in favour of a rigourous training camp in the Alps
