Tottenham v Aston Villa

Both of these clubs were shopping right up until the last minute of the summer transfer window and they are, along with Manchester City and Portsmouth, two of the four teams attempting to nick fifth place or even fourth.

Villa will blossom for a second season running. It looks like they've got really good balance in their team, strength in depth, pace, penetration and defensively they look strong and well organised.

We know Tottenham tend to win the majority of their home games and they've brought in Roman Pavlyuchenko to bolster their attack. He's a good player but it will be interesting to see how many goals he scores because I think he needs quite a few chances.

My feeling is that Tottenham will sneak this one.

Match preview
Verdict: 2-1

is that recognition from lawro that we may win a game this season??

Fuckin ell, Lawro actually thinks we're gonna win a game...

City at home should be winning the majority of their games now, especially with the personnel they can call on - the likes of Robinho, Jo and Shaun Wright-Phillips.

Portsmouth have picked up after a tricky start, but then they did have to play Manchester United, Chelsea and Everton so it wasn't easy by any means. They've got a good manager and good players and they'll be hard to beat.

Verdict: 1-0

Fuck me. Kiss of death.

I actually think we might struggle in this one. But I wouldn't dare say that. Doh!

I dont know. It's not that I think they're better than us, far from it, it's just a feeling I get. And I'm getting it now.

I know what you mean. Some games are tougher than others when they shouldn't be. Don't worry, lad.

Yeah, by the time the game comes around I'll think totally different, I'm sure.

You could be right, I did have a beef curry. It was nice though. I probably ate too much.
