I don't see why everyone is so happy.
We were worse than crap for 90 minutes against a well organised crap team from a very small country who would probably equate to barnsley or some such in England. Jo is not the Messiah, most of the others looked totally disinterested and everyone here is going round like we won the FA Cup. Now, he says, smugly, I know that most of you don't have much experience of supporting a winning team, but we really have to be realistic. It was the the qualifying round of the least important European competition -- not the final.
I will say no more about the return of SWP, I made my position clear on another thread.

Why the fuck did he take Elano off ? Its obvious to all but an idiot hes our best player. What 3 goals in 2 games in the league ? Top scorer last season despite injuries, loss of form / being played out of position.

He takes off Ben Haim and brings on Hamman (who played very well) still what about Johnson ? Hes been shit bar half a dozen games for city in his entire career. We all know he has a bad attitude, let not gloss over the issue.

Really he is not one of our own. He has been shit for god knows how long, I would take Arsenal / Evertons arm off if they offered £8 million.

I am sorry Ireland has been a miles better player for us in midfield. Given the choice I would keep him over Johnson anyday....Over my dead body we would loose him over johnson - at any stage. I know Ireland has issues but at some point you have to form an opinion based on performances and I cant rememebr the last time Johnson had a good game for city.

Whether he joins or not, we'll be fine this season, and then in the Summer we will build a stunning team, the perfect blend of our youth players, stars and solid signings.

Elano was about to get himself sent off, plus we wanted to play two up front.

Johnson didn't play well today, however he's had far more than six good games for City. I can try and go into more detail, but this is simply reactionary bollocks to a bad performance.

I actually rate Ireland very highly, but we're talking about two players who differ quite widely in terms of experience. At the same time, Ireland's only recently started playing as well as we know he can.

Anyway, not great today, but eventually enjoyable game. So so glad we won and Shauny's back.
