Who's nervous? Me, I am. Got a few things on today as well but I want us to win this one and it's playing on my mind.

I'm a bit nervous too DS, but confident too. I think we are better than WHU, but we could put in any kind of performance.

Hopefully Kompany starts, is there any news on that front ?

I am very nervous about this match, I know it's too early to be talking about "must win"games but if we're going to be top 6 this season we need to start winning ways early on.

C'mon City!

I just dont think a dude who hasn't even trained with a team walks straight in. Maybe off the bench. I think long term he will replace Hamann. In any case I would love to see him today.

We are better than WHU but we're a bit of a confused side right now, if we were away at Wham today I'd fear for us, we need some confidence and I think some goals and a win at home will do us wonders.

Yeah that'd be my worry as well.

But Aston Villa (who got beat by Stoke of all teams) absolutely creamed us through the middle of the park. Johnson is brilliant when he's attacking, but has a lot to learn about the defensive side, whilst Gelson isn't in form atm. Kompany is big, strong and can use the ball well.

Hughes has said that he wanted him to play on the weekend, I too think it will be interesting to see if he starts though.

Yep im in the same boat folks..feel pretty edgy about this one..
I saw enough of west ham last season. Twice in a week cup and leauge to know they come here and have a good go.

Hoping ashtons going to be out still, after missing *cough* england *cough* last week.
And they have another 7 regulars missing..

And we have no attacking front line, so its all fair..

Hoping sturry and chud and lead the line and show us that their worthy of being up there..

COME ON CITY!!!!!!

Heres the excerpt.

Kompany in the clear

City's latest signing Vincent Kompany (who could have been playing against Jô at the Olympics) has received international clearance in time to join up with the squad ahead of this afternoon's first home Barclays Premier League of the season against West Ham United.

The versatile former Hamburg SV star, who will wear squad number 33, could come straight into the team and take up a defensive midfield role today.

---

Very happy about this.

It doesn't look like Kompany is even in the squad according to BBC Football?

Depends when they updated it last.

They may have Bianchi in the squad as well, but he's not playing !

Several streams for the game on Live-footy, but with my preference for TVU Player here you go:

http://livefooty.doctor-serv.com/sun24.8/ManCity_WestHam2.html

It's a decent enough stream guys, Enjoy!
