We got beat last night, despite 72% possession. Our defensive frailties are obvious, Pep will be sure to sort that next season. I would've liked to have won the cup. I now need 'snal to win it rather than those 2 cunts.
2nd in the league, league cup trophy, semi finals of FA Cup and round 16 of CL. If you offered that to me 12 years ago I'd have snapped your hand off. Now it feels like a bit of a disappointment. On our day we still play the most attractive football of anyone anywhere.
I'm looking forward to next season, and seeing what Pep does with the team.
Agree it's a bit disappointing, but also i would've taken this a decade ago.
arsenal played an outstanding defensive game. no route through by passing in the middle, no spaces to work through and very disciplined. thus reduced to pinging in, for some reason, high balls from the wings, rather than fizzing things in a foot or two off the ground. it was a very frustrating game. only 1 shot on target as well according to the stats, but did go very close a couple times, laporte's in particular was memorable. They were utterly different to their league display which was pretty fucking abject and, as it transpires, very misleading. their second seemed far too easy. We seemed to lack a bit of invention, or something, i've read reports saying they look tired but i dunno, it's a slight malaise about the past two games that i hope will lift. Almost as if spanking liverpool so emphatically took every last thing we had to give this season, and now it's just a collective going through the motions. fucking hope not. need to give david another trophy, and this was likely the easiest pot available to us. on paper, at least.
