Typical luck that, still a weaker side for this I guess. Chance for a few to stake their claims perhaps.

yep true, but something has to give. You cant have 11 players playing 4 games in 8 days and expect to win all of them!!

If we are really lucky, we give the danes a thrashing at home and can field a weaker team in the second leg.

Have to field a young side in the carling cup. No other option.

This is bollocks. If the 2nd leg of UEFA was at home it might not be too bad but as we've gotta go all the way to Denmark, then back and away to Sunderland the lads are never gonna get a break from travelling.

That seems to be the only option that we have at the moment.

Carling Cup round two tie moved back to September 07/08/2008 15:13

City will avoid fixture congestion in the last week of August with the news that our Carling Cup second round tie will now take place in late September.
The Blues have not been given a bye into the third round of the competition, being the ninth English side to qualify for Europe via the Fair Play League, and could have faced the prospect of a Carling Cup tie in the same week as the away trip to FC Midtjylland in the UEFA Cup on Thursday, August 28th.

However the football authorities have agreed with the Club that our Carling Cup second round tie can take place in the week of the rest of the Carling Cup third round ties, which begins on Monday September 22nd. The draw for round two is made on August 13th.

We can also confirm that the away leg of the UEFA Cup tie against FC Midtjylland will kick off at 4.25pm local time, and that Channel 5 will broadcast the game in the UK.

So won by telling them, we would play the reserves otherwise:D
