City await qualifying draw fate 01/08/2008 10:24



Following on from last night's 4-0 aggregate victory over EB/Streymur, the Blues now look set to face more opposition from Scandinavia as the draw for the second qualifying round of the UEFA Cup takes places from noon today in Nyon.

Looking at the way the draw is set up, City are again seeded, this time in Group 1 of the Northern section and can only face one of five teams. Two from the Danish Superliga, two from the Swedish Allsvenskan and Finland's FC Honka.

Our possible opponents are:

FC Midtjylland (DEN)
FC Nordsjælland (DEN)
Djurgårdens IF FF (SWE)
Kalmar FF (SWE)
FC Honka Espoo (FIN)

whoever we get, we need to improve our goals to shots ratio. Last night was piss poor....36 shots, 2 goals:(

Maybe so, but the fact we had that many chances is a credit to the team. The City I know would of given up after 10 and not scoring

no good if you don't make em count. Same problem last season, can't score. Won't get that many chances against decent teams. This worries me, we ain't ruthless enough.

I thought last night was encouraging, we just need a little more cohesion in midfield. A right winger that can actually cross a ball would have solved a lot of problems. I can see Studge score a bagfull when he starts, I mean he looks comfortable on the ball and a few goals will do his confidence the world of good. Playing like he did last night the goals are sure to come. Im pretty sure Jo would have banged in a few had he been playing. There were many more positives than negatives last night, if you dont count Ball.
