With no defending to do he is a lot better, but defensively last season he was shite defensive wise, hopefully the coaching staff have been working on him.

He played the entire game, and he was good.

Not impressed with celtic's goal or the bad defending for the crossbar shot. On the other hand when the little lads upfront realise that it doesn't matter who scores even if they don't , if you see what I mean, then there are good times ahead goalwise.

Evans and Studge were greedy in key positions hopefully Hughes will have picked up on that and have a word with them.

Yes he played well like I said I hope he plays against AC so we can see some more of him, he wasn't really tested enough to call off our left back search but he played well

Much better performance despite a few changes. Once again Petrov by far our best player. Good Boj got another 45 minutes. Vassell missed a few more sitters. Thought Sturridge and Evans linked up well when they came on. Etuhu really needs to go out on loan to sort out his distrubution. On closer inspection he is not ready for the prem, we looked much better when Ireland was on the right.

We desperately need a left back and right winger, I honestly believe a couple of decent players in those position would make a huge difference to our team.

Well done. That's the most positive post I've ever seen you do.;)

And you managed not to mention we are skint.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!!! Vassell. Shoulda done better. Clean through on the keeper. Tit.

He missed 4 chances, but he didn't stop trying. He tried his best but wasn't his day.

It's never his day in front of goal but his effort makes up for lack of goals. He always gives 110%

Scoring is not the most important part. It is being in a scoring position so you can score. That is the skill. Afterwards the law of averages comes into operation.
Denis Law and Jimmy Greaves were masters of the goalscoring opportunity.
Indeed Jack Carlton -no slouch as a brutal defender -- reckoned Greaves had a series of tunnels and trapdoors in the penalty area.

Vassell needs to drop down a couple of leagues to really impress. Made the goal though and worked very hard.

Ched Evans not Atkins. What sort of name is Ched . Is it short for something?

Good result, best performance under hughes thus far....we are looking fitter and a little sharper.....bring on milan.....
We do have the remnants of a squad but could do with a right midfielder and we'll be in a good position

That will be a good game to watch

Agree, but Garrido wasn't bad at all. Deserve to get more playing time, looked sharper than Ball.

Yep, Hope Garrido plays against AC so we can so him against decent opposition, If he's good enough defensively then A right winger and we're good to go,

Fair point.
