Job done, dull second half but professional performance from the boys. Hope Silva's injury isn't too bad.

Just your standard egg, sausage and bacon :( the sause is thicker than usual so that will act as an adhesive, sticking the bits of egg, sausage and bacon to my ballls. My dog is going to love breakfast today.

David Silva looks set to hand a boost to Manchester City's Premier League title aspirations after initial tests showed the ankle injury he sustained in Monday's 3-1 win against West Bromwich Albion is not as bad as first feared.

Silva was taken off on a stretcher in the second half at the Etihad Stadium following a challenge with West Bromwich's Morgan Amalfitano. The manager Manuel Pellegrini voiced his concern that the Spain international may have exacerbated an existing injury which kept him out of last week's draw against Sunderland.

However, the Guardian understands that Silva has not sustained any serious damage and should be fit to return after two weeks. That could mean the 28-year-old is in contention to play in City's penultimate game of the season against Aston Villa on 7 May, although the last match of the season against West Ham is thought to be a more likely return date.

Silva has suffered a series of injuries this season that have restricted him to just 24 Premier League appearances. City have won only 58% of matches where he has been unavailable, a figure that rises to 76% when fit.
