far cry 2 atm. not much better than headshots with a .50 calibre sniper rifle.

headshots on 'Black' were awesome. Blam, ping goes his helmet, dazed, then Blam down he goes. That was great with a handgun or just normal assault rifle.

Sniping ftw definitely though

I enjoyed setting fire to africans.
Takes aaaaaaaages to get anywhere on that game, apart from that it's ok.

black looked great but blew for the frankly cartoon mechanics. one of the few games i've played that left me seriously underwhelmed to the point where i traded it in.

aye, flamethrower is amusing, but too short range. prefer them to run around all confused as you blow their mates lungs across their face from afar. travelling does seem to take aaaaaages, but at least there are people to kill along the way

not bad for a cheapie, gotten hours of amusement out of it and only about halfway through.

13 or (xiii) Now there was a good game. Really didn't like the 2Dness of it at first, but one of the few games I've clocked time and time again

alawys kicked myself for not getting that one... there's a couple of new ones that look worldbeating, but also time eating... borderlands and dragon age. the latter took 7 years just to write the history of the gameworld and the backstory of the characters.

Borderlands I'm tempted by, but want to wait for a demo or something first. Don't really know too much about it. I'm not too keen on the MMORPG type games Oblivion:Elder Scrolls/Fallout 3. Not that they're not good games, but just too much fucking nothingness, and a motherfucker to kill baddies

borderlands is a sort of firstperson roleplaying shooter, basically level up and get better guns. some 16million+ variants in fact...
dragon age is about the only rpg that has ever appealed. they modelled racism and make the elves into untermensch. kinda like fable, where actions have lasting consequences, but waaaaaay deeper as well. not an online game afaik. not sure about borderlands.

online generally means hacking kiddies being arseholes anyway, and is best avoided. hence my reluctance to purchase MW2, especially as it was hacked within hours and also doesn't do dedicated server support.

yeah, I knew it wasn't online, just that it has that same WoW feel.

I don't want to spend an hour trying to get somewhere. I want to blow shit up

Just finished Uncharted 1 and 2 back to back and am currently playing the new Ratchet and Clank - very much the same style as Tools of Destruction but that's the only other one I have played so its not a bad thing in my case.

I have got Wipeout HD and Creed 2 ready to go as well.

need to catch up with some games I haven't clocked yet (Ninja Gaiden and resistance 2...)

Plus finish Batman and Call of Duty (the old war one).

Mean to try out those uncharted games though

Didn't like ninja gaiden, resistance 2 and the uncharted's are cracking games though.

really? I got quite far into it. Nice to see the return of the old style bosses at the end of levels. Found it pretty tough going, but you've got to use the maps religiously. Enemies respawn upon entering a section you may have already been through so you need to be aware of where you're going and where you've been. It's good fun - I thought

I didn't take to it so I traded it. I prefer shooters tbh. Think I'll be getting the new Ratchet and Clank next.

You should be able to pick up the first one for next to nothing second hand and that will give you a good taste. The second one does have an online MP option that I haven't tried yet due to a dodgy i/net connection at the moment.

If you liked Tools then I am sure you'll like the new one.

The trains were fucked this morning which gave me the opportunity to fire up Wipeout HD which I have to say is excellent so far.
