Hardly. It's amazing what you can do with 'ctrl+v' and that button which centres everything.

I wouldn't mind. Just to see what the privileges are. I understand my forum use is sporadic at best so I'm probably not a great candidate.

I notice LM isn't around much recently?

Awww, someone noticed?

Depressingly busy at work at the moment, only just keeping moderately behind on what I have to do - just enough so as not to get totally bollocked, at least. Still lurking and keeping an eye on things from time to time, to make sure you're all behaving and stuff.

Oh, wait, you meant leeperman, didn't you? :(

hi lm, ive started to work in the university now and currently working in a project. however, i have a great professor that trusts my knowledge and therefore leaves all the project on me. so, i give breaks if i get bored and that...
do you also happen to have this comfort in England?

Yes, I'm left entirely to get on with my project for myself, as you'd expect at this stage of my career. It's all the little add-ons that I'm doing right now that make things really busy: teaching, tutoring, grant writing, curriculum development and I'm currently supervising three undergraduate students in the lab - to be fair to them, one is really good and can just get on with things for herself, and the other two are going to be good but have only just started so can't be left alone just yet. All that is on top of having a lab project that demands pretty much full time by itself. Busy times.

actually you may leave the other two to the one who can handle things. that may save you some time. still, good luck with your work

:D nice idea. Actually the two noobs are working on very similar projects so once they're fully trained I expect them to be able to help each other out. Shouldn't be too long until I can leave them to their own devices, they're pretty quick on the uptake and also keen to become more independent in the lab. They're only with us until Christmas, but I'm hoping they can make fairly significant progress on the project in that time.

and im working on a project that seems impossible to do at 1 atm and room temperature. All literature papers claim that at least 170-190 C and some serious pressure for that reaction. Even though it shouldnt, when i get a negative result, it makes me too angry

Haha, negative results are (a large) part of the job, unfortunately. Although if you already know that it won't work because the conditions aren't right then I'd be angry too, but angry that I had to try something I knew would fail rather than the failure itself.
