Looks like I'll need a win, lose and draw thread to use the poll.

Is it worth it??

I probably won't be involved due to my relative lack of forum posting these days, but could I suggest that people who predict a 0-0 draw also get a point for 'no goalscorer'? Seems a bit harsh that you don't get as many points for that prediction just because there wasn't a goalscorer. Having said that, City don't do 0-0, so it's probably irrelevant anyway...

Hmmm, good point.

However, you are right in saying that we don't do 0-0, and also, statistically, forummers don't do 0-0 either.

I'll change it though, just for you :D

That's the other problem we have - if we score 5 goals it ruins the poll.

I think I'll ditch 4-3 and replace it with 'other'. That means I can just scan down for the posts in question.

Hmmmm, this poll idea is making it a toughey.

Can Bluemoon extend the number of poll options to say 15 or so? Or can a mod?

Aww, I feel honoured

Don't think we can change the number of poll options, though, so if it was just an attempt to butter me up to get me to do that, it's a futile one...

I'm not sure this works. If you predict 1-0 you have a choice of an entire team and the bench to choose a scorer from. Tricky to do. If you predict 0-0 then no scorer is the only choice so surely that changes the chances and skews the poll.

But if you pick 0-0 you are putting yourself in a position to score less points than if you predict 1-0. Neither are fair. And tal ben prediction, it doesn't matter that much as I can't remember anyone accurately predicing 0-0 in the 2 years I've done this.

But by all means, exploit the mathematical advantage of predicting 0-0 if you wish..... :D

But if it finishes 5-4, you have a good chance of your one selected goalscorer being among the scorers, seeing as it's to score at any time not to score first.
Edit: I suppose what I mean is that if you predict 0-0, then as soon as the first goal goes in, so have your chances of predicting the goalscorer. If you have picked someone to score, you still have that chance throughout the whole game. Unless it's changed to first goalscorer only, there will always be an advantage to predicting someone to score.

Be in a seperate thread. They've have to be stickied in the build up to match day I guess or they'd get lost.

Something you want to share with the group, labby?

Having never used one, I wouldn't know.
