A thread for any quirks or issues we have.

BM, any chance you can change it so that when you click on a link in a thread it opens in a new tab/page rather thank hijacking the forum webpage? Thx.

can we reinstate the fit bird's thread?

i may be missing a trick, but are deleted posts now "hard" deleted, rather than the old "mods can see it but no one else" deleted?

I'll look into this when I have more time during the week. I am not sure if it's possible or not to overwrite the original post.
If it was done without a target reference (ie new window) then it may never be changed on old posts. New ones I'm sure I can probably make appear in a new window if they don't already do so.

Unfortunately not yet as the site still uses Google Apps to send all the auto mails and they don't allow images like were in that thread.
However, later this year I am looking to change so that all mails including auto sent ones are sent from my own email server so anything goes again. Might be during the summer though.

When posts are deleted I think there is a choice to do either 'hard' or 'soft' (enter your own jokes here). The original fit birds one though I may have deleted forever on the old forum, I can't remember so something I can look into another time.

EDIT: Just checked and it appears there is no soft delete option set-up as it was on the old forum.
I will have to look in the admin section to see if it's inbuilt or possible add a mod for it to work that way.

Post subject:  Re: New forum

When you post did you check the box before pressing submit 'Attach a signature (signatures can be altered via the UCP)'

If that is the issue, just check that each time or alternatively set it to be auto checked forever by using:
User Control Panel->Board Preferences->Edit Posting Defaults->Attach my signature by default. (Set to 'Yes')

Cheers
BM

I just wasn't aware it had happened. I wasn't bitching about it like a spod.

Talking of Bassman, did I mention I bumped into his mum the other day?

She has her own little YouTube bit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=WMznvEgOPhU

I tried a different tack with banning that guy, set a date sometime in the distant future with the reason 'this is the date you'll die a lonely death choking on a dodgy kebab'

Post subject:  Re: New forum

I've tried IP, permanent user, 1 month and 1 week IIRC.

Something fishy is going on cos he is on the banned list while posting
