It appears with the new forum there are much fewer guests around. Currently 6 online, normally hovering around 130 up til the change.

it's that the favourite tab no longer brings you to the forum, so unless you go searching it just appears to have done a kaizer souse

Yeah, I kept on clicking on my bookmark tab and it seemed offline. It took me a while to figure out that I should change the ending of the URL...

It appears the most number of users ever online on V4 is '42'. Now does that mean we are way down on numbers or that the previous amount of posters online was incorrect? We regularly had between 150 - 190 users online.

v4 for up for 4 days before I stumbled across it - was everyone told it would change to .com and I just wasn't paying attention?

Be good if there could be some kind of redirection from the old site.

a lot of those were baidu spiders, the chinese search engine page catlogue thingy. at one point i counted about 50 of the things, plus the google spider bots. about 40 odd users sounds about right tbf, although a bit on the low side.

conk on the redirection.

things we're missing - online users list, friends lists, top posters list and stats in general.

I keep a rolled up newspaper next to my keyboard for any spider bots. Near epidemic proportion last week, saw hundreds of them galloping around. Little blighters...

Over time this will sort itself out and we will get more spiders once again but the actual number of people on the site has always be fairly low unfortunately.

The .com/.co.uk problem was my fault. I did redirect all the domains but they only worked if you went direct to the domain with nothing added after it in the URL. So if you had a bookmark to a page within the old site it would not have worked. I've just added permanent redirects now so all old posts, although they won't link direct, will now link to the front page of the site rather than a broken link. I've just tested with a google search for a post on the old site and it redirects to the front page as we stand now. Not perfect I know as the person would then have to research actually on the site but best I will get it.

There is a list at the bottom showing who is currently logged on, but it doesn't' show what they are looking at to anyone.
All the other stats like total posts and threads is also show at the bottom of each page. Don't know about top posters etc and would have to look into those kinds of stats but there is a probably a mod to add to the forum to show anything.
