Post subject:  Winding people up

OK, I've had a few pms today due to arguments and general wind-ups. Can we please not intentionally try to wind up people to get them to blow up and go mad at everyone. I won't name names but everyone knows who I mean. That person has been wound up by folk. Now maybe it's because he is wrong and people want to point it out, but there is definitely an element of bullying and ganging up that is a little unsavoury. It's absolutely fine to disagree, of course it is, but this particular person gets people coming in like flies. Whether he is right or wrong it's a little nasty that everyone is just waiting to dive in and twist the knife, and intentionally trying to wind people up to make them have an outburst is pretty lame.

Can we all just get a grip and be a bit more adult. Or if not, can we at least share the childishness around so more than one person is the brunt? I'm not the only person who feels uncomfortable about all this.

Cheers.
Benny

I will apologise, but I would also like it noted that all I did was provide solid fact to the argument. I wanted a debate yes, but it escalated out of all proportion. The debate I was looking for was a good mannered one, as I do agree with said person on some level.

No need for apologies from anyone, let's just move forward.

Nothing of any interest. Lots more of the same. It's getting really tired now though, and I know it is putting other people off posting or getting involved.

I'm guessing something with Bassman again? I haven't been on the forum in a while, been trying to go on the internet less over the holiday and spend more time outside/with family/friends/girlfriend so I'm out of the loop when it comes to recent forum events.

Your life decision is probably a healthy one.

It's not a permanent thing, just while I'm back over here for Easter. As soon as I'm back in Manc the old habits will return and I'll be beavering away on the internet until the wee hours of the morning again.

That's what it was made for.

One of the reasons I took a break from the forum is the bickering tel ben.

As mods we all get emails when a post is reported. All of them involve us clicking through to see if it's been dealt with.
It's tiresome and time consuming folks.

Sometimes the reporting of a post is meant to be "humourous."

Trust me; it's not.

Yes he was, but not me! It was GA. I just provided scientific reasoning to disprove an argument.

to be entirely honest i disagreed with his view that footballers are too soft to play 180 minutes a week at their peak level - not because it was bassy, but because i don't agree with it. i do however agree that they are pussies when they go down like they've been shot at the slightest touch, and said as much. there was no intention in my discussion to get him to go apeshit, but when he started i couldn't help poking fun at him. for someone who takes so much pleasure in winding up gibbi (and others) til he pops, and has admitted as much in fact, he lacks that critical element of being able to take it as well.
but sorry for my part in causing hassle. like i said, it was not the intention, nor do i want to pick on bassman, but arguing/debating/banter is a diverting activity that i enjoy.

I think that you are all tossers and that you should all burn in a vat of diseased faecal matter whilst your children and wives/girlfriends/boyfriends are eaten by rabid mass murderers. All your opinions are worthless and you are all thick as fuck. Oh yeah and you are all illiterate and smelly and have the social skills of a manically depressive baboon

This thread isn't for everyone to justify everything they did, as I said, let's just move on.
