WHAT?
Shit, turns out it's true.
On a happier note, I found some tourist advice on nights out in Oldham:
# There is a lovly selection of fine high class clubs and bars you will find on Yorkshire Street in Oldham. Selling the finest drinks and allowing only OVER-AGE and VIP guests in; no matter what your ethnic origin- because of course nobody in Oldham is racist at all.
# scruples dirty 2 o clock princess's and you order a pint of blood when you leave for the hospital.
# Sometimes, if your lucky a bum or two might hang around the bank near Yates' on a Friday/Saturday night. For a small fee they'll let you rough 'em up a little. It's twisted, I know but, it's a great stress reliever. The stress comes from knowing your going to live and die in a s**t house like Oldham and the only entertainment you have is getting hammered on a Friday/Saturday night and beating homeless people up.
# tokyo's meat market, sleazy dj's and the ugiest blokes only oldham could produce
# Masonic Lodge. Kershaw Street. Giving it some large tunes!
# rainbow at star inn trappers clegg street
# just to let you know there is also a club in oldham called the candlelight club.its great for a good night out and if you want to grab a granny.i know this from past expierience.its known as sticky carpet.
# Rennies has changed to Holy City Zoo - Trendy name and trendy DJ's but I don't actually know anyone who goes there! Maybe us Oldhamers are just too tight to pay the £6 entrance fee when Scruples only costs £4
# Root's wife swapping parlour, in the Coach & Horses every Saturday night!
