The Hit list. The stuff thats top banana!

This is the stuff that to me is simply brilliant. The good stuff, the things that keep me (reasonably) sane. The things that i love, that impress me.

1 Manchester City FC

Ok, we might not be the greatest team on paper, but that is irrelevant. I have blue blood running through my veins, and I take great pride when City do the business (especially against the red scum). Lets hear it for 'The blue shirted heroes from the Eastlands Academy of footballing excellence'.

2 Good basslines

A dirty, deep low down bassline, as performed by Peter Hook, or Mani or more recently Carlos Dengler. Simple, no bass fretwanking, just good honest down in the sewer dirty bass sounds.

3 Kraftwerk

I love these, and i have done since i first heard them when I was about 16. Even went to see them live, and to this day they are still the best live act. True German efficiency, with a touch of class.

4 Cricket

On a hot summers day, with a beer in hand, watching Lancashire take apart the weak Yorkshire bowling attack..ahhh, fantastic. Or on the rare occasions that we turn over the Aussies.

5 Good films

The Goodfellas. "What the fuck makes me so fuckin' funny?" What a film. I can watch this film over and over. And other films like The Wicker Man, Italian Job, McVicar etc. Proper films and no Bruce Willis in site.

6 Discovering a new band

The first time you hear a new band like The Pains of Being Pure at Heart or an old band you've never heard before. When you put the album on, and soon a huge grin forms on your face, because you realise that you've just uncovered another aural treat.

7 Beer

Lager, lager, lager. Carling is the beer, or Guinness. I love Carling, nicely chilled on a hot day. Beautiful.

8 Kebabs

Chicken Tikka and Donner, with salad and mild sauce. Thank you very much.

9 Playing my bass

I love playing my bass, turning up the volume and playing nice and loud. Either rehearsing in a band, or just playing along to some other music on cd.

10 Bands I've been in

I am very proud of the bands I've been in. Yo-yo Parade were the first, kind of like the Stone Roses - best song 'I'm a chameleon'. The second band Jaded - best song 'I'll see you someday'.

My current band, is simply the best band i've ever been in. '5 Leaves Left' have already done a handful of gigs. Our best tunes so far are 'Dead Already', 'Stand up be free' and '...and still it rains'.

[quote="Bastard"]Last night I called Bassy a liar and said he hadn't been to see any shoegaze bands in the early 90s. He's been kind enough to find a ticket stub from one of the shoegaze gigs he went to, take it into work, and get one of the fat lasses to show him how to use the scanner. then he emailed it to me. I attach it below.

Turns out there's irrefutable proof that Bassy DID go to shoegaze gigs in the early 90s and I apologise unreservedly for any misunderstanding that may have taken place.

shoud have never read that whilst eating my tea, just choked on a slice of pizzaImage[/

It was probably the straw that broke the camels back.
