Which song stops you in your tracks and makes you all wistful because it brings back happy memories?
I've just heard "Love and Affection" by Joan Armatrading on the radio and I had to stop what I was doing because I went all gooey remembering friends and good times.

It's just like Friends on here isn't it?

I went out with Joan's sister for a bit btw. Much nicer looking than Joan thankfully. Could sing too.

I like to keep in touch with my feminine side, Cloudy. Pity Joan didn't have a feminine side, too, isn't it? It was always better when Legs & Co danced around to her tracks on Top of the Pops rather than have the lady herself on there frightening the kids.

I gave the KLF 'White room' a re-assessment last evening, or a nostalgia trip, who knows. Reminded me of years ago, spliffed off our heads listening to all manner of even weirder stuff.

Hate that song with a passion, comes a close second to I'm not in love by 10cc.

You have no soul East Stand.:( Look at the lovely lyrics, they're soooo saaaad!

Goodbye to you, my trusted friend.
We've known each other since we're nine or ten.
Together we climbed hills or trees.
Learned of love and ABC's,
skinned our hearts and skinned our knees.
Goodbye my friend, it's hard to die, (he's dying! I thought he was looking peaky)
when all the birds are singing in the sky,
Now that the spring is in the air.
Pretty girls are everywhere.
When you see them I'll be there.
We had joy, we had fun, we had seasons in the sun.
But the hills that we climbed
were just seasons out of time.
Goodbye, Papa, please pray for me,
I was the black sheep of the family.
You tried to teach me right from wrong.
Too much wine and too much song,
wonder how I get along.
Goodbye, Papa, it's hard to die (his daddy will miss him!)
when all the birds are singing in the sky,
Now that the spring is in the air.
Little children everywhere.
When you see them I'll be there.
We had joy, we had fun, we had seasons in the sun.
But the wine and the song,
like the seasons, all have gone.
Goodbye, Michelle, my little one. (and little michelle too!)
You gave me love and helped me find the sun.
And every time that I was down
you would always come around
and get my feet back on the ground.
Goodbye, Michelle, it's hard to die
when all the bird are singing in the sky,
Now that the spring is in the air.
With the flowers ev'rywhere.
I whish that we could both be there.
We had joy, we had fun, we had seasons in the sun.
But the stars we could reach
were just starfishs on the beach (he was just a starfish on the beach!)

I'm in floods now!

Comfortably numb-Pink Floyd

If it comes on the radio\on shuffle whilst on my ipod in the car i will kill anyone that tries to change it. I sort of have to get out my air guitar for the solo which isn't that great whilst driving.

Cloudy...

That fact that your comments on the lyrics are in pink sums it up.

It was carefully chosen! :D

Didn't some vile boyband cover this a few years back?

I have to admit it must the the most syrupy pile of shit ever written.

My more serious nomination would be "Til the next time we say goodbye" by the Stones which has personal memories for me.

"Higher State of Consciousness" by Josh Wink reminds me of the acid techno nights in Manchester during my late teens.

The theme from the film 633 Squadron reminds me of monday nights in The Ritz.

Do drugs at an acid techno night kids, even if its only once. Do a mixture though. Acid, ecstasy and speed. And alcohol. Lots of alcohol.
