i was just thinking back..
Like the first record i went and bought with any real conviction was shawaddy...wait i mean the sex pistols..

I was with my nan in peter j swales record shop in altrincham, and had my birthday money..7 quid it was for the rock and roll swindle. my nan had no idea what it was until she heard friggin in the riggin...:D

But doing the list, i thought well that was important in my soundtrack..but londons calling wipes the floor with it..

But as long as juan/derrick/UR made it..its all good...:approve:

Did your nan like it?

I need a bit more of UR's stuff. I can't remeber if I said ta for the Carl Craig stuff or not, so if I didn't , thanks alot matey.

You get the complete works of Shakespeare and the bible but you get to choose a luxury as well. You also have to choose the one song from the eight if you could only have one.

Ohhh, teasing me with Shakespeare and the bible, not a fan of either.

Does the internet count as a luxury?

Bastards, you struggle to make 8 then they make you pick the best.

Tracks.

Richard Rose (m&s) was on yesterday. Quite interesting bloke.

ooooh difficult... in no particular order

Make No Mistake - John Martyn
Down Down Down - Tom Waits
Average Joe - Terry Callier
Frankie and Albert - Taj Mahal
Vigilante Man - Ry Cooder
Hey Baby (New Rising Son) - Jimi Hendrix
FDR in Trinidad - Ry Cooder
Lonesome is I - Mississippi John Hurt

sounds a bit twatty, but off the top of my head. Very open to change no doubt

X101 is tasty! I noticed a nod to Roadrunner, some good bands on RR back in the day, not heard anything from them for years I will have a listen to what they're up to later.

To be honest Morrissey's stuff in the last 10 years has been varying degrees of middling to poor. The Smiths quite rightly are untouchable, but Morrissey....hmmm.....more and more, meh.

You Are The Quarry is as good as anything he has ever done imo.

This is not true. He got dragged to a couple of games but realised it wasn't for him, didn't he?

Nah he is a scum fan. "Roy's Keen", "Munich Air Disaster 1958", the clues are there.

He'll never make an album as good as Vauxhall and I again imo. Nothing he's made since touches it

Fair enough, i always thought it was more of a mild passing interest that, well...passed.

He's Gallagher though, eh? TOP FANZ.

Noel Gallagher often surprises me with how much he knows.
I think you're right, he's a hugely lapsed fan, hasn't been to OT in years, but his colours are nailed to the mast.

At least we got Johnny Marr

Vauxhall & I's my favourite Morrissey album.

Apart from Bona Drag, which is cheating a bit I guess.
