Actually i might buy The Big Pink album instead of Girls. Didn't realise Dominos was by them.

But you said you objected to the format - manufactured bands who don't write their own music.

it was a different world back then. these days, all bands should write and play their own stuff, there's no excuse. back then, it was the done thing to have songwriters, and musicians to record the music for you.

There's no excuse now, you could record music in your own house these days on a laptop.

Listened to Fast Blood. Seemed ok. Might have to sample some more

Fast Blood grows on you, I didn't particularly like it to begin with. I Feel Better is a hell of a tune.

This doesn't make any sense Bassy. Even music is good or it is shite.

5L(L) wrote their own music and it was an unlistenable dirge.

Christy Moore takes a lot of songs from outside writers and he is one of the finest performers around today.

In your hole. Of course it does, it's in plain English.

*And he also writes his own.

And Bassman retorts with his typical ironic blast.

Bassman attempts to take it as a compliment, which it was not meant to be/Bassman attempts to be sarcastic, and it doesn't really work (delete as appropriate)

I'd rather you not reply if I'm completely frank

Christy Moore writes some songs, takes some from other songwriters as well as doing covers and traditional songs.

This crap about bands writing all their own songs is just done to make sure all the publishing money is earned by the band. It has little to do with artistic credibility.

I mean, Snow Patrol write their own stuff and make terrible records. It took Leona Lewis to sing their best song properly.

Bassy, if Mary J Blige asked to cover Dead Already, would you let her?
