Ting Tings are excellent. Katie White has got an excellent voice. There is one duff track on the album, and a couple of average, but there are some really excellent ones as well. I want to see them live. They're extremely creative to not sound repatitive with only two members, all their songs are different and most of them work. Shut Up and Let Me Go is one of the songs of the year so far.

I also like The Verve, but as Badger said, they're from Wigan. Hardly at the heart of the Manchester music scene. I'd love to see them live as well, Ashcroft looked like he loved every single second of Glastonbury and they put a fucking good show on. Can't wait for the new album.

Apparently Katie knew someone who was called Ting Ting so that's where the name comes from!

If one is a drummer, and one a singer, do they have any music at all?

Yes. The singer plays bass guitar

They have music. I don't know who plays it. It must be from a computer or on tape or something. All the best bands do that these days Bassy. You should know that by now. Maybe you could go out onstage with your bass unplugged and just jump around to a backing tape instead. i'd pay to see that.

Why? The music is clearly created by somebody, i am guessing by them. Just because all the instruments aren't all on stage at once doesn't make them any less of a band.

I thought that the whole point of playing 'live' was to recreate 'live' what you do in the studio. But if you are just going to play the backing tapes, it's not exactly 'live' is it?

It doesn't matter if everything is on tape or computer or if there is a fat bald bloke backstage playing the guitar.

What matters is if the show is any good.

With the drums, the bass guitar and the singing they do recreate the majority of their music live. The rest is about recreating the energy, and from watching their Glastonbury set, it's clear they manage to do that with some ease. Can't wait to go and see them

No. You want a recreation of the album. Note for note. What's the point of that? You're a musician. Surely you can understand the difference between a soulless recreation of an artificial sound and the adrenalin rush of a live performance. No?

What about Pink Floyd, they tend to recreate live the studio sound, and they don't exactly jump around do they? It's about the music, not jumping around like a loon.
