I don't like agreeing with you, as a matter of course, but in this instance, you breaking down the musicians one by one, i have to agree. Alex james is a far better bass player, Coxon a better guitarist etc, etc.

Of course, Coxon is into his punk rock/garage stuff as well, unlike Gallagher who only ever listened to Slade and the Beatles, so Coxon has got more in his repertoire. Still think as a front man, Liam G has got more than damon Albarn, but that's just my opinion.

Agree, Blur have had a consistency in their songs over the years, whereas Oasis have gone a bit like Charlton Athletic, gradually downhill.

I think Gibbi's great, comes on here, insults you, doesn't like the reaction, spits his dummy out, then stomps off.

A legend.:D:approve:

I agree with that.
Seeing Coxon live switching seamlessly between a telecaster (i think) and slide guitar mid song made me cream my pants, very reminiscent of 70's era Neil Young. Noel could be any guitarist really, he doesn't stand out for me, Coxon however has a quite unique style.
I love Suede, but Blur edge it for me over their respective careers. The "Suede" and "Coming up" albums are as good as any Blur ones for me though.

One day i'll give Blur another try. I've almost convinced myself that i'm going to listen to a different Beatles album again soon, and try and get past my Sgt Peppers thing. Not that i think i'll ever like Sgt Peppers because i just don't think it's much cop, but i should try their other stuff.

Just so y'know like.

Also, earlier today/last night or whenever it was, BBC claimed to be the champion of circular debate...i'd like to hand that title to somebody else in this thread. It's not even Bassman.

I've heard you play Bassy and your one note indie plod wouldn't get you into any band of note. Noel Gallagher wouldn't give you a job picking up rubbish after his sell out show at Slane 'cos he knows you'd fuck that up as well.
