Disagree with Kippax and Jona here, 'Black' marked their first first attempt at pop-rock. Death Magnetic was the first salvation amid St Anger and Load, Re-Load tripe.

Although 'MoPuppets' is probably still the most important metal album 'ever' it is a little dated, And Justice For All I still listen to regular. Gold.

I've never liked the fact that Metallica try to squeeze 100 songs into 1 making the songs 7 or 8 minutes long. I just get bored. I love the other side of Metallica.

I might have given St Anger more of a chance if the recording was better, it just made it hard to listen to...like it was recorded in a garage...in a bucket.

Which side of Metallica? You didnt say which album/s captures them best?

I think you are trying to say they have become more progressive and write longer songs, I think that is true, but Kill Em All style songs are 20+ years old, they had to more on.

It's cos you're scared. You go back to your Doors and other drolldom and niceness.

I am right now forgetting that we agree on many artists. Your post here ^ is SO out of order.

*Then why did you need to comment (Bassman)?

**Admitting you have a problem is the first step in psychological fault. Second step requires what is called a 'will to change'.

Eminem, Metallica and The Doors aside we agree on most.

Actually I dont mind the Doors, Morrison was a dick though.

You like (in no particular order) The Zombies? QOTSA? Kyuss?

I didn't enter Metallicasville until the Black Album so that was how I liked them. 5 minute songs with only a couple of changes. When I looked into all their other albums I discovered I wasn't a fan of the 8 minute/loadsa riffs/changes side of the band.

Having said that, One is one of the best metal songs ever. :D

Love the zombies, don't like QOTSA (and I've seen them live so I'm allowed an opinion), haven't heard of Kyuss

Fair one. You really dont like hard rock/metal then, Kyuss pre-emoted QOTSA, so you wont dig.

Yes, yes it is. Even for a semi-ballady style song.

Not really no, mostly listening to 60's stuff and loads of the blues at the moment. Listen to Neil Young everyday recently as well.
