He is playing an outdoor show in Dublin on Saturday.

The last time I saw him he came back for the encore in a good mood.

He said "I am delighted to announce that while we were playing our set tonight, Ronald Reagan died". Cue much laughter from the crowd followed by internet death threats and a cancelled tour of America.

Oh for fucks sake! He was the lead singer with The Smiths. Been solo for years now.

Don't tell me you don't have this music down under?

Obviously if you haven't heard of The Smiths. Get your hands on World Won't Listen by The Smiths. This came out in the 80s and collects singles and b-sides. This gives a good idea what they were about.

Hey, Miggs!!!
For all your Smiths needs:

Image

Then move on to The Queen is Dead. His last 2 albums are very good too.

You're soooo wrong Miggsy.

Have a look at the Modular label, probably the best independant label on the planet today. The Presets & Midnight Juggernauts are two of my favourite bands at the minute. Cut Copy I believe have just had a number one album in Oz with In Ghost Colours, which is OK too. And check out Ladyhawke.

Bloke in the picture is Charles Hawtrey.

When Charles Hawtry was in hospital the doctor told him that in order to save his life he would have to amputate both his legs. Hawtry declined this and said he would "rather die with my boots on".

I saw two good Aussie bands at Download - Airbourne and the legendary Rose Tattoo.
