Weller is clearly talentless. They are doing "songs that sound the same" on talksport and he's come up twice already. Taxman by the Beatles and Start, and Changing man and an ELO one (not sure which). They are complete direct rip offs. He's rubbish.

Hmmmm, puts tin hat on - that's one of the problems I have with guitar based music (emphasised with the recent BBC Glasto coverage) so much of it has been done before. There's only so many combinations and sequences of notes that sound ok to us (I have often thought about music for other animals but that's another story) meaning that a lot tunes are essentially recycled.
I have nothing against guitar based music at all - I just haven't heard anything particularly original for ages.

Edit: Please feel free to point me in the right direction.
