If you got an mp3 player, where does that USB lead go in your computer? Or basically which hole do you stick it in?

You're kidding, right? It goes in the USB slot. The one it fits in to rather than the firewire slot that it doesn't fit. It's a joke ain't it, and I bit.

Do those ipod things work exactly the same way? i.e. plug the thing in the same hole on the computer etc?

ipods have the worst file transfer system imaginable, a simple drag and drop would make it soo much better but no they had to make things difficult.
