Message I woke up to over Facebook...

Hi everyone,

Just to let you know that I quit the band tonight. I nearly did it a few weeks ago, but decided to see the booked gigs out before thinking about it again. I haven't felt any different since then, so I decided to quit.

We're all still friends and I am still a fan.

I had a blast. I will still do it all again, writing, gigging etc.

Take care and I'll see you around no doubt.

Gordon

How am I supposed to get through the day at work now?

I am on the top floor. Did they consider the suicide risk of declaring this on a Monday morning.

I remember where I was when Kurt died. I think today is another one of those infamously memorable days.

Yeah. They aren't actually as bad as everyone said they were. Unfortunately they have to be spoken about in past tense now.

Eric Carr and Freddie Mercury also died on this day in history.

Perhaps I should stop taking the mick, Bassman will understandably be pissed that his band is minus a singer.

Must be gutting, they've been together a while, got loads of recorded stuff, and now nothing.

The King is dead, long live the king.

Indeed, Gordon has left. He was lead guitarist, not lead singer, and it's been on the cards for a while. he doesn't like the new stuff we do, which is fair enough. 4/5ths of the band do, 1/5th doesn't. Not only that, he really struggled to perform to the required standard live.

Anyway, next weekend we have got ourselves a brand spanking new lead guitarist starting, so watch this space....

Seriously, a lead guitarist should take the song somewhere else, make it soar. Gordon couldn't do that. He wasn't kicked out, he left of his own will, but to be honest he'd stayed at the same level as from 2 years ago.

I'm looking forward to a our new guitarist coming in, and really taking the songs somewhere.

The Beatles changed their lineup just before they became famous.
