My Chemical Romance fans are planning to march across London in protest against the depiction of the band in the media.

The march, to be held on May 31, will begin at Hyde Park's West Pond and end outside the offices of The Daily Mail.

The newspaper has recently dubbed My Chemical Romance a 'suicide cult' band in its coverage of the suicide of 13-year-old emo Hannah Bond.

Three hundred fans are so far confirmed to march against the British press, of which the organisers from the MCR Buzznet Community in a statement claim The Daily Mail is the 'worst offender'.

In 2006, the newspaper widely criticised emo and My Chemical Romance and has recently run general pieces about the dangers of the 'cult'.

the Mail went overboard with this story, but fuck me, to parade as the fans is mentalist talk!

Why do emo prostitutes make good joiners?

Cos they are good at cutting and screwing.

*apologies*

Surely a march across London by several hundred emo's just because of out of touch fascist publication doesn't like their fav band, is playing straight into the Mail's hands?? What could be more 'emo' than this??

My Chemical Romance are one of the most underappreciated bands in the world. Before you start goin "Fuck off you Emo *", look at my CD collection too. They're absolutely awesome live, and could cut it with the best of that particular Genre imho

A CD collection that includes:

Radiohead
Oasis
Pendulum
RHCP
Courteeners
Verve
Richard Ashcroft
Pigeon Detectives
Does not constitue Emo-ism.

*Hopes Benny believes him*

Nah Benny you've got it all wrong; my contacts out there on the street corners of England tell me that now all of the yoof are wearing these 'skinny jeans' and 'converse all stars' once the domain of the emo. We have to look to subtler identifying features, such as the permanent floppy black fringe, the shitty band badges or better yet just check the MySpace pages for abominable attempts at poetry.

Is My Chemical Romance a band I ought to have heard of?
What is Emo?

I was listening to the Beta Band on the way in this morning BTW.

Just another thought on this thread. Skinny jeans and Converse? That's soooo 80s and I ought to know.
