Anyone else seen this?? Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds releasing a new album in 2013.. Please tour it!!

Quote:
Having successfully wrapped up his recent film score/soundtrack collaboration with Warren Ellis, Nick Cave has turned his attention to a slightly more neglected project, his very own Bad Seeds.

The last studio effort of Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds came in the form of 2008′s Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!! So you can imagine the sheer delight fans all over the world will now be sharing with news that Cave will be bringing back the thunder in 2013.

In a recent interview with BBC 6‘s Nemone , Cave revealed that “I’m really excited about that. We haven’t done one for a while”. The program later revealed that fans can expect the album to drop early 2013, around Feb.

Cave continued to say that “it was a real pleasure to get back to doing that…to finding the time to take off a significant amount of time from other projects, which were always supposed to be, kind of, extra-curricular. And just to get back with the Bad Seeds in a room and make a record.”

The musician was sure to keep his cards close to his chest on this one, keeping his lips sealed just enough to create some powerful suspense, “I think what we did…I’m so pleased with this. It’s really different. I mean, it doesn’t sound like anything the Bad Seeds have done before. It’s really good. It’s really very, very beautiful. It’s not a ballad record. It’s not like classic Bad Seed ballads. But it’s very, very beautiful and it’s far away from Grinderman and that kind of thing.”

When pushed on the title for the album, Cave pumped the brakes: “No, it’s making me all goose-pimply just even talking about it”.

Yes please. :!:

Loved his stint back with Grinderman, but i reckon IS about time for the re-emergence of the bad seeds.

I've been listening to the new Muse album for a week or so. I want to like it but I can't stand Matt's voice on their last 2 albums. I found a leaked version without vocals but it's just not the same.

Jake Bugg - Jake Bugg. Everything I hoped it would be! He still has a lot of room for improvement, but he's young. It is inevitable.

Truly wonderful effort, and certainly a must for any music fan.

Yup. They've suffered U2-itis. Become bigger than they should ever have, become anthemic vomit. Stand by for charity gig to save <insert suffering body here>.

More songs of whimsical ennui set against a background of chugging fuzz guitar and swirling, slightly discordant keyboards.

Classic Grandaddy really. :approve:

Saw him earlier this year, very good. Something skiffle-ish about him.

Been listening to a bit of old ska-punk:

all 3 of their albums as a box set - excellent stuff.

Best live album ever? A tough one but this makes arsewipe of Maiden's effort:
