Best i'll do is rephrase it.

Sgt Peppers is, IMNSHO, the most over rated album i have heard, and subsequently the biggest letdown.

Brilliant album.
Not as good as Oasis or the Courteeners but then John Lennon and Paul McCartney could never stand up to Liam Gallagher or Liam Fray to be fair.

Seriously though...Sgt Peppers isn't as good as it is hyped up to be. Influential it may be, but i don't think that relates to quality too much. As i've said before, i bought it when it was the 40th anniversary of it's release and i remember reading a quote from some music boffin that Sgt Peppers "changed western civilisation forever"...now i was obviously wrong to expect it to live up to that kind of hype because at the end of the day it's just an album. However, whilst there are some decent and fairly enjoyable songs on there, i seriously can not understand the big deal about it. It's an average to fairly good album at absolute best...i was being harsh calling it rubbish.

There have been many many better albums made than this.
