Gotta admit it took me a few listens. It's ok but I'm not totally soaked on it.
Maybe they waited too long. I don't know. But I just felt something was missing. I did watch the whole 2 hours off of Maynard on Joe Rogan. That was great..
And speaking of brilliant music. I did get to see Gojira again at the Apollo... That was just su fucking purb.
And it was a 50th pressie from my daughter..
She's trained well the eldest..

Saw Tool last Friday night. First and maybe last gig I'll ever give 10/10. Emotional it was, and I don't expect non-Tool fans to appreciate this but...it was all THAT.
Frankly, despite the buzz from the gig I have been flat since, knowing that I have no other artist in the world that I wish to hear as I heard them. My mate who saw them with feels the same. Anyway, I am sure I'll pick my dick up but...wow. WOW.
For those who don't know what they're about, no they are not just heavy metal, their time signatures are mostly 'exotic' as you will hear. This from their most recent album, plenty of 7/8 timing which leads to the song name, try it, I double dare you;

my eldest daughters scouse other half is at university (where they met) and he is studying 2nd year sound engineering and tool are one of his fav bands, and our leigh too. for two 21 years olds its pretty cool. ive always been a fan of tool and their abstract nature and would love to see em live.
I just don't think their latest outing was their best, but MJK has kinda said as much himself.
Sounds like you had a awesome time mate, the fact its had that much impact on you says how good it was. nice one pal..
