Yup. I made a point of buying the oldest copies i could find at a book fair. Yellow pages and crumbling covers. Stunk. It all added to the enjoyment.

I really liked Diamonds are Forever.

Anyone tempted by the new one by Sebastian Faulks? Supposed to be very good.

I thought that there were loads of books about Jesus so who decided upon which ones went in the bible and which didn't or should I force myself to read the Da Vinci Code again?

I've not read it once yet so couldn't advise either way.

To save me the bother can you give me a quick plot summary Bert?

I'm guessing it was in fact Jesus who invented the helicopter, am I close?

Actually it is the hypothesis that Jesus married mary magdalene and therefore you could theoretically finish up with the great grandaughter of God, a theory of which the Roman Catholic Church does not approve. The plot has mindless and childish twists and turns and finally decides that the female descendant of Jesus is alive and well and living in an Edinburgh church.
Good crap to read on a beach but not of great literary merit.

The helicopter is in the prequel Angels and Demons

Any sign of Elvis in all this? Sounds as though he should be in there somewhere?

unfortunately not. if he had been included, it would have saved the novel. alas it was not to be.
